Beckworth Emporium: From Temporary Freezer Hire to a Long-Term Storage Solution

Beckworth Emporium is an award-winning garden nursery, restaurant and food hall in Northamptonshire. Named Restaurant of the Year in 2012/2013, the business combines dining, food retail and garden shopping in one destination.

When Beckworth needed additional freezer storage, a rental solution provided the capacity they required quickly and proved valuable well beyond the initial temporary requirement.

The challenge

Beckworth needed a freezer that could be delivered, installed and put into operation at short notice. Hiring offered a practical way to meet the immediate requirement while giving the business time to assess its longer-term storage needs.

The solution

The first freezer unit was ordered, delivered, installed and working within 48 hours, providing a fast response to Beckworth’s storage requirement.

Over the following 12 months, the reliability, flexibility and value of the rental arrangement made a lasting impression. What began as a temporary solution became the business’s preferred approach to freezer storage.

Rather than purchasing a static freezer, Beckworth chose to upgrade to a 40ft rental unit for ongoing use.

The result

The initial hire gave Beckworth an opportunity to assess the equipment and service in day-to-day operation before committing to a longer-term solution.

After a year of use, the business chose to continue renting, with reliability, flexibility and value for money driving its decision.

David Brown, Co-Owner at Beckworth Emporium, explained:

“Our first unit was ordered, delivered, installed and working within 48 hours. It was a temporary solution but we decided to upgrade to a permanent 40’ unit after 12 months as reliability, flexibility and value for money were more appealing than buying a static freezer.”

He also praised the equipment and the service from the team:

“We were very happy with the equipment provided and with the service provided by Danny Thierens.”
