Temporary cooling for Carrefour supply chain’s cold storage expansion
As part of the expansion of one of its refrigerated warehouses in Cormelles-le-Royal (Calvados), Carrefour Supply Chain—a specialist in warehousing and distribution—needed to ensure that new areas dedicated to temperature-sensitive food products were kept at the proper temperature. This strategic logistics site supplies Carrefour hypermarkets, Carrefour Market, and Carrefour Contact stores daily with fresh, frozen, and seafood products. The immediate commissioning of two new cold storage rooms was essential to ensure the continuity of the cold chain while awaiting delivery of the client’s permanent refrigeration systems.
The challenge?
- To quickly secure two newly fitted cold storage rooms.
- Maintain a constant temperature of +2 °C in the first cold storage room and +8 °C in the second.
- Maintain the quality and safety of perishable goods throughout the entire operational period.
