On May 3, 2022, the pandemic agreements between the German federal government and five pharmaceutical companies based in Germany were signed at the Paul Ehrlich Institute in Langen.
By signing the agreement, our client IDT Biologika is also granting the German federal government access to production capacity for five years, enabling it to rapidly manufacture and deliver at least 80 million doses of vaccine per year. This is an important contribution to supplying citizens in Germany and other countries with vaccines should a new infectious disease emerge, as it minimizes the risk of potential supply shortages.
To store these vaccines for an extended period, they must be sufficiently frozen. To this end, IDT approached Coolworld with a request to lease 25 large-scale deep-freeze storage units.
- 25 mega-freezer units with a volume of 100 m³ on standby
- Imfstraße provides the necessary capacity expansion
- 3-year lease term with the option for flexible extension
- Vaccine storage can be maintained at -25 degrees upon request
Wondering why IDT Biologika is so satisfied with Coolworld’s assistance? Then please read on.
25 mega freezer units for vaccine storage as part of pandemic preparedness
As part of its pandemic preparedness, IDT Biologika is maintaining vaccine production capacity so it can manufacture and supply large quantities at short notice. To store these vaccines for longer periods, they need to be kept at deep-freeze temperatures. Renting 25 Mega deep-freeze units on standby supports IDT Biologika in meeting this requirement.
-
Deep-freeze storage at -25°C with a storage capacity of 100 m³ per unit
Each deep-freeze unit has a storage capacity of 100 m³. The units remain on standby and can be cooled down to -25°C once connected.
-
Setting up a vaccine production line ensures reliable production and distribution.
The established vaccine production line ensures that vaccines can be produced immediately when needed, while qualification and release take place in parallel. This enables rapid distribution afterwards.
-
Exciting but smooth delivery and installation
Over the course of one month, five Mega units per week were delivered under the required transport permits and positioned at the designated installation site.
