A malfunction in the refrigeration system posed a critical challenge for a pet food manufacturer. Since production runs in three shifts and the refrigeration and freezing areas must be continuously supplied with cold air, a production shutdown would have been unacceptable. Flexible cooling solution for critical repair work

The failure of a heat exchanger in the energy centre required repair work to the existing cooling system. This area controls both the site’s cooling supply and parts of its heat recovery system.

As the affected cooling circuits had to be shut down for the repairs, an alternative cooling solution was required. The mobile rental cooling system was originally planned for around ten days, but due to the longer repair period, it ultimately remained in operation for eight weeks.

Coolworld’s flexibility proved particularly valuable. The rental period could be extended quickly and easily, allowing the repair work to be completed before the summer months.

High cooling capacity available

Two mobile chillers, each with a capacity of 620 kW, provided the required cooling for the site during the repair work.

The systems ensured cooling for the production facilities, as well as the chilled and frozen storage areas, at the production site with around 350 employees.
